Environments
Each organization has two environments: Sandbox for building and testing, and Live for production. Resources in one are separate from the other.

How a request picks an environment
- Signed-in sessions carry the environment of their selection. In the Console you switch in the context menu (Environment → Sandbox or Live);
genesis context selectbinds the CLI login to a Sandbox selection. - Organization API keys reach the organization-wide services (Hives, Silos, Traces and others), which keep their own environment fields on each resource where they have them — for example a Hives deployment's
environment. - Operations that only exist in Sandbox say so in their service's description; Lanes and Flares are Sandbox services today.
